… well, at least from the outside! 🙂
With Eli back from the field, we made the final push to get the last few rows of siding installed on the bay window side of the house. Along with the boards around the wheel wells, these boards required the most precise cuts and were some of the most difficult to make look sharp. The seams between boards had to line up snugly or they looked really messy. We had also figured out that our siding boards varied in width (or height once they’re installed on the house) by up to a 1/4 inch. Doesn’t sound like much, but it’s very noticeable if the board widths vary for even one of the five boards that make up each row spanning the bump out of the bay window. So, we had to choose our boards carefully and make our cuts with even more meticulousness. But, in the end, all that effort paid off, because the siding below the bay window looks tight.
I got caught up in the moment installing the final boards below the bay window bump out, so no photos. But, really what you want to see is the house with exterior fully completed, anyway! I won’t hold you in suspense – well for too long! This is a HUGE milestone for us to have the exterior of the house fully finished. We definitely did some celebrating and spent a few days after going out often to admire our work and the adorable looking tiny house in our backyard. Now, if only the completion of the interior was right around the corner… But, so much more work to have the interior look as much like a real house as Hygge Hale now does from the outside! Okay, the photos of it in all it’s glory!
Your tiny house looks really, really wonderful. Congrats on the outside!! Now we are anxiously awaiting the inside completion.
Olga and Wayne.
Thanks! Us, too!
Looks move in ready! OK, so maybe half way?????
