No, I’m not calling our tiny house names – I’m talking about our soon-to-be tiny woodstove! We just put in an order for one!!!
The “Sardine” is made by Navigator Stove Works, a small, independent shop who builds made-to-order marine (i.e. originally made for sailboats) iron woodstoves. And, these stoves are freakin’ adorable. The “Sardine” model is their smallest stove, measuring 12 x 12 x 11 inches. I am so overcome-by-cuteness in love with this stove. And, I haven’t even yet seen it in real space – only photos (click here or the link above to see some of these heart-stealing photos).
I’ve been coveting one of these stoves since I first saw a picture of one in a tiny house years ago. I’ve been threatening to just go ahead and buy one for years in preparation for the potential, one day maybe, for us to build a tiny house. Eli’s kept me in check — until now! With the tiny house build now underway, I just couldn’t hold out any longer. I had to get our Sardine ordered! Now, I just must endure the difficult lesson in patience as I await it’s arrival in approximately 4-6 months (since these are made by hand, Navigator Stove Works estimates they can make two stoves per week – and their stoves are popular! So, it looks like we’re some months out on the first-come, first-serve build list). Oh, will I be posting photos when it arrives. Counting down the days…
They are attractive and cute looking. I go with Barb and will look to see if I can find a tiny hatchet lying around in my multi-purpose garage for you guys.
Thanks! Never know what you might find in that garage!
I’ve heard there have been some questions of our Sardine color choice following Eli sharing my post on his Facebook page. An important detail I omitted! We’re traditionalist folks (okay, maybe we can’t say that when we’re building a tiny house…), so went with the normal black cast iron. We did go with the window on the front upgrade, though!
Tiny stoves require tiny stacks of wood. Maybe a tiny hatchet would do the trick.
Yes!! 😁. Hmm, a tiny hatchet sounds exciting…
