Since we’ll now be spending a good bit of time on the roof, we decided it was a good time to cut the hole in the roof deck for the roof window and get that framed out. This will allow much easier access to the roof. Our roofing materials arrived and look good! So, we set to work getting the roof on! Gotta start bottom to top to “shingle” all the roofing elements for waterproof rain shedding, so the first bit to go on was the flashing for the eaves.
Next was the roofing underlayment. We were lucky that with the width of our roof, we only needed one strip of underlayment on each side of the roof! Quick and easy! Tackling the waterproofing of the ridge ventilation has been an endeavor with lots of brain-burning by Mr. Rose. We needed the ridge vent and cap to be relatively narrow as we had a small roof and a roof window to fit. But, crafty Eli had some custom c-flashing made to keep it tight, and self-adhesive peel-and-stick flashing is pretty amazing.
To top off our satisfying progress, we were rewarded with a killer sunset
Amazing!!! Love seeing the progress you all are making! We need a tiny house meet up once you’re road ready!
Thanks! I love the idea of a tiny house meet up!
Hi Tracy and Eli. The house is really coming along! And now the exciting part! Fitting things inside. I saw this on FB today and thought you would like to see it. I like their kitchen a lot/

Thanks, Linda! It is really coming along. We still have a long way to go until we’re fitting things inside, though! Unless you mean fitting plumbing pipes and electrical lines and insulation inside!
Thanks for sharing the link to that tiny house. It’s a nice one. I LOVE the tree silhouette on the tiles in the bathroom!
